Coova Configuration

This guide will walk you through setting up Coova to work with Wireless Orbit. If you need information on installing or upgrading Coova, please consult the external links section of the Coova page of this wiki.

This guide was written for CoovaAP firmware version 1.0. Other versions should also work, although the exact configuration process may vary slightly.

HotSpot Configuration

After logging into Coova's administration interface, click on the Hotspot link in the navigation bar.

• From the HotSpot Type pulldown select "ChilliSpot UAM"
• From the Auto Configuration pulldown select "Disabled"
• In the UAM Hostname blank enter "wirelessorbit.com"
• In the UAM Secret blank enter the secret key you defined in the RADIUS profile for this gateway (in the Wireless Orbit Control Center). If you're not sure what that is, just check the gateway details in the Gateways page of the Control Center.
• Click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page

HotSpot RADIUS Configuration

Now click on the RADIUS link in the navigation bar. You should now be at the RADIUS Configurations page. From here:

• In the Primary RADIUS Server blank enter "69.36.234.20"
• In the Shared Secret blank enter the secret key you defined in the RADIUS profile for this gateway (in the Wireless Orbit Control Center). If you're not sure what that is, just check the gateway details in the Gateways page of the Control Center.
• Click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page

HotSpot Advanced Configuration

Now click on the Advanced link in the navigation bar. You should now be at the Advanced ChilliSpot Configurations page. From here:

• In the HotSpot Services Provider blank enter "Wireless Orbit"
• In the HotSpot Services Provider URL blank enter "http://www.wirelessorbit.com"
• In the UAM URL Format blank enter the login portal URL for this gateway. If you don't already know what this URL is, just check the gateway details in the Gateways page of the Control Center.
• Leave the UAM Homepage (splash page) blank (deleting anything that's there)
• Click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page

Apply Changes

Now click on the Config Changes Pending link in the main navigation bar (in the upper right). This should take you to page listing the changes you just made.

Click on the Apply Changes link (in the upper right) for the changes to take effect.
