Calendar time example

In this example we'll set up everything needed to allow online signups for accounts good for six months. Each account will be limited to 1 gigabyte of downloads per month and a half a gigabyte of uploads per month. The accounts will also have a rate limit of 1 megabit downloading and 768 kilobits uploading. The accounts will cost $19.95.

Bandwidth Limits

In the Control Center, click on Bandwidth Limits in the main menu to the left and then on Add in the navbar along the top. From here:

• In the Name blank enter "1 GB down/0.5 GB up"
• In the Bytes Down blank enter "1073741824" (one gigabyte in bytes)
• In the Bytes Up blank enter "536870912" (half a gigabyte in bytes)
• In the Duration blank enter "4" and select "week(s)"
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message. Click on the Add tab again to create another limit.

• In the Name blank enter "1024k down/768k up"
• In the Bytes Down blank enter "131072" (one megabit in bytes)
• In the Bytes Up blank enter "98304" (768 kilobits in bytes)
• In the Duration blank enter "1" and select "second(s)"
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Bandwidth Plans

Now click on Bandwidth Plans in the main menu and then on Add in the navbar. From here:

• In the Bandwidth Plan Name blank enter "1 GB/month, 1Mb/s"
• In the Bandwidth Limit area highlight "1 GB down/0.5 GB up"
• Click on > (the right arrow) to move the selected limit to the right
• In the Bandwidth Limit area highlight "1024k down/768k up"
• Click on > (the right arrow) to move the selected limit to the right
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Usage Limits

Now click on Usage Limits in the main menu and then on Add in the navbar. From here:

• In the Usage Limit Name blank enter "6 months"
• From the Usage Limit Type pulldown select "Calendar Time (From First Login)"
• In the Duration blank enter "24" and select "week(s)" (4 weeks a month x 6 months = 24 weeks)
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Usage Plans

Now click on Usage Plans in the main menu and then on Add in the navbar. From here:

• In the Usage Plan Name blank enter "6 months of usage"
• In the Usage Limit area highlight "6 months" in the list of limits
• Click on > (the right arrow) to move the selected limit to the right
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Account Classes

Now click on Account Classes in the main menu and then on Add in the navbar. From here:

• In the Account Class Name blank enter "6 Month Users"
• From the Bandwidth Plan pulldown select "1 GB/month, 1Mb/s"
• From the Usage Plan pulldown select "6 months of usage"
• From the Account Type pulldown select "User Account"
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Payment Plans

Now click on Payment Plans in the main menu and then on Add in the navbar. From here:

• In the Name blank enter "6 month user payments"
• In the Signup Text blank enter "6 months @ 1 GB/month, 1 Mb/s download"
• From the Account Class pulldown select "6 Month Users"
• In the Account Class Multiplier blank enter "1"
• Leave the Currency selection at "US Dollar"
• In the Price blank enter "19.95"
• Click on the Add button

This will give you a confirmation message.

Login Portals

If you haven't configured any login portals yet, consult the login portal examples for more information about how to do this.

Now click on Login Portals in the main menu and then on Edit in the navbar. From here:

• Click on the Edit button next to one of your login portals
• From the Payment Gateway pulldown select "My Payment Gateway". If you haven't configured any payment gateways yet, see the payment gateway examples for information about how to do this.
• In the Payment Plan selection highlight "6 month user payments"
• Click on > (the right arrow) to move the selected payment to the right
• Click on the Edit button

Signups

You have now completed the configuration. When a customer clicks on the Sign Up link in the login portal, they will see the "6 months @ 1 GB/month, 1 Mb/s download" option. If they sign up for an account, they will get six months of access with a 1 GB monthly download limit, a 0.5 GB monthly upload limit, a 1 Mb/s download rate, and a 768k upload rate.
