Adding by Account Class or Payment Plan
The Add area of the Accounts page allows you to add a new account. From the Add Account... pulldown you can select two methods of adding accounts:
- The By Account Class option allows you to select from a list of your account classes. Accounts created this way will be given the default usage for the account class. For example: if the account class is for daily timecodes, the created account will be a timecode with one day of usage.
- The By Payment Plan option allows you to select from a list of your payment plans. Accounts created this way will be created exactly as if they were created via online signup. A dummy payment will be created for the account with the payment type of "Control Center". Note that no billing is actually done. This option is provided for businesses wanting to use Wireless Orbit to keep track of point-of-sale transactions where you collect the money yourself for accounts created manually in the Control Center.
After selecting to create an account by account class or payment plan, you will be asked to enter the details for this account:
- Leave the Enabled checkbox checked to allow the account to log in. If you uncheck this checkbox the account will be created but will not be able to log in until enabled. You can enable and disable accounts by changing the value of this checkbox in the account editing interface.
- In the Account Name blank enter the username. If the account is a timecode this will be filled in automatically. If the account is a device account you should enter the hardware or MAC address for this account.
- In the Password blank enter a password for this account. If the account is a timecode this blank will not be present. If the account is a device account you will typically want to leave this blank.
- The additional contact information for the account is optional
- In the Description blank you may enter a brief description of the account. This is for your reference only.
- If the account is being created by payment plan, the currency and price of the account will be shown at the bottom of the form. A dummy payment in this amount will be added for your records. Note that no billing will actually be done: the payment is entirely for your record-keeping.
After clicking on the Add button you will be shown a summary of the created account.
Errors
Account "[account name]" already exists
The account name you entered is already in use. Select another account name.
An account name must be supplied
This error indicates that you failed to enter a username for this account.
Both the password and confirmation must be supplied
This error will occur if the account type requires a password and you failed to supply one.
The passwords you entered do not match
This indicates that the password you entered in the Password field did not match the password in the Confirm Password field. Make sure they match.
